Champions League

Training and games

Champions League is all about training and playing games! We know kids want to play games, after all, that’s mostly the reason why we train.

Champions League is an opportunity to PLAY GAMES!

But remember competent players are confident players and training is where you learn and are comfortable making mistakes. This leads to higher enjoyment and retainment in any sport.

Players will train for 45 mins and then play a 45 min game each Saturday.

What it’s all about

Our Champions League is part of Aspire’s pathway in developing our junior players and building champions. We have an ongoing commitment to our juniors and our vision of providing long-term player development.

  • The League will offer opportunities for our junior players to play games in a positive, encouraging and learning environment.

  • Our junior players should be playing their games knowing how to pass, dribble, shoot, complete a layup and play effectively in a team.

  • The Champions League combines a training session with the opportunity to play a game. Games are a fun part of the learning experience and an important chance for players to transfer the skills they have learnt to a live game. Training is equally, if not more important, as it provides a place to correct, improve and build confidence in skills that were identified in the game as areas for improvement.

The Champions League program follows our Aspire curriculum and we will coach the skills needed for each child to succeed at each level.

We will also be closely monitoring each game to pinpoint areas for improvement in training.
